The Watervliet Jr.-Sr. High School conducted a lockdown drill today – Thursday, Feb. 3 – at 9 a.m. Members of the Watervliet Police Department, including the district’s School Resource Officer, assisted with this morning’s drill, which lasted approximately 30 minutes.
These safety drills are practiced throughout the school year to help prepare the school district’s faculty, staff and students in the event of an emergency.
Lockdowns and other drills are required by the state and are an important part of the district’s safety plan.
