WHS senior receives diploma early to pursue a dream

One member of the Class of 2024 received his diploma a week early due to an extraordinary opportunity for him to achieve goals, literally and figuratively.

Mustafa Rezaie received his diploma on June 18 because on graduation day – June 26 – he will be half way around the world preparing to play national league soccer! A lifetime dream come true – he will be overseas for the next several weeks traveling, training and playing with the Afghanistan soccer team (or football as it’s called in most the rest of the world).

Earlier this month, Mustafa was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the Cannoneers varsity soccer team at the high school’s Sports Awards Night. When he returns to the U.S., Mustafa plans to attend Hudson Valley Community College to study computer science and hopes to continue perfecting his soccer skills as an HVCC Viking.

Congratulations and best of luck, Mustafa!
