Every year the Watervliet Elks Lodge #1500 provide dictionaries to Watervliet Elementary School third grade students as part of The Dictionary Project.
This year due to COVID-19 restrictions, Elks Club members were not permitted to present the reference books to students in the classroom. Instead, WES Principal Kelly Webster accepted the dictionaries on behalf of the third grade classes and will make sure that every learner whether in-person or remote receives their own copy.
The dictionaries will help build literacy skills and support lifelong learning among the students who receive them thanks to the generosity of the Watervliet Elks.
