Activities that involve close contact and strenuous breathing, such as physical education, singing or instrumental music, will require students maintain a minimum physical distance of 12 feet from one another.

Interscholastic athletics is prohibited across the state based on NYSDOH guideline, pending further guidance. The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) announced a delay for the start of the fall sports season to Sept. 21, and has canceled the 2020 fall state regionals and championships at the recommendation of its COVID-19 Task Force.

Extracurricular activities will be available on a limited basis as determined by school and district officials. Participation will be virtual.

Extracurricular activities, including interscholastic athletics, will follow guidance from the New York State Department of Health’s Interim Guidance for Sports and Recreation During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency as well as the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.
