Dear Parents, Students, and Guardians,
As the mid-year approaches, our teachers and staff are planning for January Regents, mid-terms and mandatory review sessions. If your child is slated to take a January Regents, we ask that you strongly encourage your child to attend the review sessions, which will help prepare them to be successful on the exams. Please take a close look at a detailed schedule of review sessions provided by each department, which includes dates, times, and in some cases, topics or concepts that will be reviewed.
Please note, Monday, January 21 is a federal holiday and school is not in session for any students that day. High school students may be scheduled to take a mid-term, a Regents exam and/or attend a review session on Tuesday, January 22 through Friday, January 25. Junior high school students are in regular session during Regents week.
Attention: Career and Technical Education students will not be in session on Monday, January 21. Unless they are slated to take a January Regents, they will have classes Tuesday, Jan. 22 thru Friday, Jan. 25.
Below is a schedule that clearly indicates the dates and times of each exam, and a bus schedule. Please be sure to carefully review the schedule to ensure that your child attends. Also, please be aware that no make-up exams will be administered for Regents; however, midterms can be made up on Friday, January 25.
It is imperative that your child does well, so please encourage your child to take advantage of the mandatory review sessions offered prior to Regents week. The Regents review schedule is posted on our school website.
Reminder: High school students in grades 9-12 will attend only if they are scheduled for an exam or review session. High school students are expected to be on time to exams. Morning exams begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and afternoon exams begin at 12:00 p.m. Students are required to sit for a minimum of two hours for all Regents exams. All book bags, backpacks, purses, cell phones, i-Pods and other electronic devices will not be allowed into the testing area. If an electronic device is found in the testing area, the student will be removed and his/her test will be disqualified. If a student brings any of these items to school, the items will be retained in the front office; however, the school district will not be responsible for electronic or valuable personal items. All valuable items should be left at home.
Students will be permitted to use our office phones to make arrangements for transportation, if necessary. Buses will run their regular morning routes. In addition, we will offer shuttle buses at 10:15 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:20 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the conclusion of morning and afternoon testing sessions.
A healthy breakfast and lunch will be served each day. Please be sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and comes prepared to do their best! If you have any questions, please call the guidance office at 518-629-3302.
