Fifth-graders receive Capital Zone Physical Education Student Leadership Awards

Seven students stand together arm-in-arm at awards ceremony in Hudson Valley Community College athletic facility

A shout-out to 10 fifth-grade students who were selected as recipients of the Capital Zone Physical Education Student Leadership Award for the 2023-24 school year.

The fifth-graders were presented the Sandra G. Morley Physical Education Student Leadership Award during a celebration on Monday, May 6, at the McDonough Sports Complex on the Hudson Valley Community College campus.

Each year, physical education teachers nominate students from the highest grade level in their elementary school or middle school for the award based on outstanding leadership and excellence in physical education. Students are recognized for athleticism, academic achievement, citizenship and leadership qualities. Congratulations WES fifth-graders!
