In recognition of Music in Our Schools month at Watervliet Elementary School, small groups of fourth-grade band students from each class section performed a short selection of songs for kindergarteners every morning during the week of March 24-28 in the music classroom. Music and band teacher Andrew Cowie lead the festive performances, which were designed to introduce younger learners to the variety of band instruments that are available for them to play when they reach grade 4.
Music teacher Elizabeth Edwards and her chorus students also performed for students in the first and second grade classes during the last full week of March.
The fourth-grade band and chorus students are currently preparing for their Spring Concert at WJSHS in May.
