WES kindergarten celebrates Thanksgiving in style!

Kindergarten students got an early taste of Thanksgiving with turkey, cranberry sauce, veggies, fruit, cornbread, pumpkin pie and other holiday goodies during the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast, which is an annual tradition at Watervliet Elementary School. Students also created Thanksgiving-themed arts and crafts – including cute and colorful turkey headbands – read stories and watched holiday videos.  View photos …

WES Principal stepping down

Watervliet Elementary School Principal Loida Lewinter has decided to step down from her position, effective January 2019. Mrs. Lewinter has served as the elementary principal since the 2016-17 school year, and was the assistant principal at Watervliet Jr./Sr. High School for several years prior to that. Lockdown drill completed at WJSHS

Watervliet Jr./Sr. High School practiced a lockdown drill this afternoon, Monday, Nov. 5. The building went into lockdown at approximately 1:00 p.m. The drill concluded about 20 minutes later. WES students learn about fire safety and prevention from city firefighters

Student athletes volunteer as guest readers
