We want to make families aware that this summer the district will not collect the Chromebooks assigned to students in grades 5-11. Students in those grade levels will keep their Chromebooks for the duration of their time in our schools until the district replaces them, the student graduates or otherwise leaves the district. Families are responsible for keeping the Chromebooks safe while the devices are in your care since this will be the Chromebook your child uses to complete work at home and at school.
NOTE: All graduating seniors (grade 12) must return their Chromebooks and chargers to the WHS attendance office no later than Friday June 17.
If you leave the district, the Chromebook must be returned to the main office of your child’s school. Families will be responsible for the cost of any lost or damaged Chromebooks and chargers.
If you are unable to keep your child’s Chromebook over the summer, please email Kirsten DeMento, Director of Accountability, Educational Programs at kdemento@vlietschools.org so that we can collect and store the device until our schools reopen in September.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
Cordially,
Kirsten DeMento
