About 50 Watervliet High School seniors were accepted on the spot to Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) during a recent Instant Admissions Day.
The college-bound seniors had an opportunity to meet with HVCC admissions counselors to finalize their applications and learn more about the academic pathways available to them at the two-year school. Students expressed interests in a number of associate degree programs including biological sciences, early childhood education, engineering sciences, individual studies (liberal arts), and nursing/health sciences, as well as paramedic and dental assisting certification.
The HVCC counselors encouraged seniors to visit the campus and attend upcoming open houses to get further information on financial aid and scholarships to apply for. HVCC will send official letters of acceptance to students in late December.
HVCC has articulation agreements with over 250 four-year colleges and universities for students interested in transferring credits to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
