We learned of one new positive case of COVID-19 in our school community since our last update.
The case is associated with the Watervliet Jr.-Sr. High School community. Based on the date the individual was last on campus, no additional contact tracing was needed as per health department guidelines.
As we prepare to welcome learners back to school Monday, April 12, we remind students and staff members to complete the daily COVID screening/attestation in the morning before arriving at school or boarding the school bus.
Whitney Young Health will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for Watervliet students aged 16 years or older on Wednesday, April 14. The vaccines are available by appointment only. If your child meets the age requirement and you want to have them vaccinated, please complete the registration and consent forms to schedule an appointment.
We also encourage students, families and staff members to continue to practice safety protocols outside of school, which include limiting group gatherings, practicing good hygiene, wearing masks and following social distance guidelines.
Please DO NOT send your child to school or come to work when feeling sick or exhibiting any of the following symptoms: fever, fatigue/tiredness, muscle/body aches or pains, congestion, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, nausea/vomiting or diarrhea, headache, loss of taste or smell, rash, feeling sick or unwell in any way.
If you or your child are experiencing symptoms, please contact your health care provider immediately. COVID-19 testing information is available by calling the New York State Department of Health COVID-19 Hotline at (888) 364-3065 or visit the Albany County Department of Health website.
Please be safe and enjoy the remainder of your break. We look forward to seeing students and staff back on Monday.
