WCSD seeks parent, student and staff feedback

Watervliet City School District will be gathering feedback from parents, students and staff through two voluntary surveys over the next few weeks.

The district is partnering with the State Education Department to pilot a U.S. Department of Education school climate survey that asks for your perspective on safety and the overall teaching and learning environment in our schools.

Parents/guardians will receive an email containing the link via the district’s One Call Now System to take the survey. The survey link will remain open through Friday, May 17. Students in grades 5-12 will take the survey during the school day.

If you did not receive an email, and you want to participate in the survey, please contact the Office of Curriculum, Instruction & Professional Development at 518-629-3456 to have your email address updated or added to the district’s One Call Now system.

Technology Survey

The BrightBytes survey asks for your opinion about technology use and classroom engagement. This survey link will be posted on the school website on May 20 for parents. Students in grades 5-12 will take the survey during the school day the following week.

The anonymous data collected from both of the these surveys will be reviewed by district data and safety teams to determine future academic and safety plans and identify efforts to improve the school climate. The information will be shared out with the Board of Education and the public at a later date.
